CSC Container Inspection

The Convention for Safe Containers (CSC) is an international agreement adopted by the IMO. It establishes uniform safety regulations for containers used in international transport — protecting cargo, dock workers, and transport crews worldwide.

What is a CSC Inspection?

A CSC inspection verifies that a container is structurally sound and safe for international transport by sea. Containers must be inspected and certified before use, and at regular intervals thereafter.

CSC Inspection Schedule

Three required checkpoints across a container's service life.

  1. Milestone 1
    New container

    Initial inspection before first use

  2. Milestone 2
    Within 5 years

    First re-inspection after manufacture

  3. Milestone 3
    Every 30 months

    Subsequent re-inspections thereafter

What We Inspect

  • Structural integrity of walls, floor, and roof
  • Corner castings and fittings
  • Door mechanisms, seals, and locking hardware
  • Container markings and identification stickers
  • Welds and joints
  • General condition and defect assessment

What You Receive

Upon successful inspection, we issue an official CSC reinspection sticker, which must be affixed to the container. You also receive an inspection report documenting all findings.
